DECORATE A GINGERBREAD HOUSE

 

You can bake one yourself, or buy a kit.  They are available from Halloween through the December holidays, and you can decorate using the candies and icing they provide, and/or add your own. Kits come in a variety of shapes, sizes, difficulties - and themes. 

 

We decided to make an environmentally friendly gingerbread house: a log cabin with solar panels on the roof and an electric car with a charging station!

 

Tip: Homemade white icing or a can of white frosting comes in handy for sticking on more decorations.  We used the ready-made variety for snow on the roof, the ground, and in the tree.
