START A DETECTIVE AGENCY
People are always losing things. Their keys. Their glasses. The books they were reading. A sock. WHERE ARE THEY? (And this is where the adult comes in, coming up with mysteries to be solved.)
That’s when they call on you, the great detective. You take this seriously because it is your job.
You put your kit together:
-
Magnifying glass
-
Binoculars
-
Fingerprint testing equipment
-
Measuring tape
-
Paper and pencil to write down clues and record interviews
-
Quick disguise props – a hat maybe, or fake glasses
You ask lots of questions about who – what – when – where – how, like a serious detective, or a reporter who is chasing down a story:
-
Who had it last?
-
What’s been lost? You need a really good description of it.
-
When was it last seen?
-
Where was it last seen?
-
How could it have disappeared? (Did someone take it or was it just put down and forgotten, did the cat hide it, or did it get caught in the washing machine, or … .)
And then you go find it!
You might want to keep notes about the cases you solve. They could be turned into a story or a book about you someday, like Sherlock Holmes or Detective Gordon, or Piggins, or Nate the Great.
