THE CASE OF THE SCAVENGER HUNT … HUNT

Have you ever been on a scavenger hunt?  It’s a really fun game.  You (and your team if you are working with one) are given a list of items to find or tasks to do within a certain period of time.  The person or team completing the list first, or completing the most items on the list in the time allowed, is the winner.

Looking for stuff is a very detective thing to do.  But this particular “scavenger hunt … hunt” has an extra twist to it.

First you find the items pictured in this chart.  Just click the image for a printable PDF copy.  (Animals can be live, pictured, or toy, of course.)  How fast can you do it?

Then comes the second “hunt.”  The objects are clues to another mystery – finding something that has been hidden.

Fill in the first letter of each object in the box below its picture.  What do the letters spell out?  That’s your clue to solving the location of the hidden object.  Did you find it?  Nice detective work!

Note to adult: You will need to solve this first and hide a treat or surprise where the clues direct.

Also, if you find this scavenger hunt to be a fun and successful activity, there are endless ideas available for other scavenger hunts, indoors and out.  Check out these sites for some examples:
